Flowly Launches "Pathways to Healing" Fund to Support Access to Chronic Pain Recovery Program
Los Angeles, CA, November 20, 2024 — Flowly, the innovate startup backed by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and Y Combinator (YC), is proud to announce the launch of the "Pathways to Healing" fund, a new initiative aimed at making the Healing from Pain program more accessible to those who need it most. The fund will officially launch on Giving Tuesday, a global day of generosity, on December 3, 2024.
The Pathways to Healing fund was established to address the financial barriers that many individuals face when seeking effective, non-pharmaceutical treatments for chronic pain. While Flowly currently accepts certain health insurance plans in select states, the need for accessible pain management solutions has far exceeded coverage limitations. This initiative aligns with Flowly’s core mission of democratizing access to effective pain management solutions, by providing financial support for those who are unable to afford the full cost of the program.
Healing from Pain is an evidence-backed, at-home program designed to help individuals manage chronic pain and stress. Developed in collaboration with leading pain therapists and supported by the NIH, Flowly’s unique approach leverages personalized virtual pain therapy sessions, immersive VR experiences, and Heart Rate Variability (HRV) training to help users build resilience and reduce pain perception over time.
"We believe everyone deserves a chance to live a life free from pain," said Celine Tien, CEO and Founder. "At Flowly, we’ve seen a surge in demand for our program as people look for ways to manage their chronic pain. While we are covered by several health plans, we recognize that many individuals remain without coverage or don’t have the financial means to pay for Flowly out-of-pocket. The Pathways to Healing fund is our way of ensuring that financial barriers don’t stand in the way of someone accessing the care they need.”
How It Works
The Pathways to Healing fund will offer financial assistance to individuals who apply for the Healing from Pain program and meet specific eligibility criteria. The goal is to provide partial or full financial support, ensuring that cost is not a barrier to accessing this life-changing program.
